Sources and how we check
Last checked: October 28, 2026.
Every number on this site is copied from a government page, and the page is linked beside it. We do not estimate, round or calculate rates. If we cannot read a number on an official page, we do not show it.
What the labels mean
- Official: read on an official government page or news release.
- Our reading of official material: how we read official material that does not spell a point out. Shown with its own label.
- Not from a government page: confirm: found only on other websites. Treat it as unconfirmed until it is read on an official page.
How we check
The numbers live in one data file. A check script opens each official page, confirms the expected rate and dates are still there, and reports anything that is missing, new or changed. A person then reads the official page and updates the file. Governments change rates on different dates (for example April 1, June 1, September 1 and October 1), so a rate can be out of date for a short time after it changes.

Cross-check for minimum wage
The Government of Canada publishes one table of the current and forthcoming general minimum wage rates for every jurisdiction. We use it only to cross-check each rate and start date against the province or territory’s own page, and for the two start dates those pages do not give (Alberta and Québec), which are labelled as coming from this federal page.
